Stealing Chanel

STEALING CHANEL

Length: 1’ 41”

Genre: Comedy/Romance

Completion 2015

Stealing Chanel is a story about the coming of age of a young designer set in the New York fashion world.
Giorgio, raised by his gambling mother in the poor and tough neighborhoods of Queens grows up believing that wearing the right “look” is the means to rise above one’s condition. Shoplifting is the only way Giorgio knows about getting close to the magic of fashion.
Giorgio goes to jail, is harassed by an insane cellmate and in order to get out he agrees to a rehabilitation program with Chanel Borden, a young badly dressed New York heiress, arrogant about her wealth and breeding, obsessed about getting her PHD with her groundbreaking treatment of compulsions.
Her program involves brutal and humiliating steps for Giorgio. The therapy takes them inside several New York fashion stores where she discovers that Giorgio has exceptional knowledge of fashion. Soon she is attracted to Giorgio’s magnetic sexiness as he is to her steely intelligence. They argue about class, values and lifestyles, about clothes and crime. They quarrel, land in bed and end up even more confused than ever.
Giorgio realizes that Chanel has stolen his heart. And she is the only one who has recognized his true potential. Through a fluke his design talent gets him a job offer on Seventh Avenue. Chanel drops out of her PHD program, experiences the thrills of fashion trying her hand at shoplifting and is seduced by the possibility of love.

Starring Adam Lavorgna, Lydia Hearst, Margaret Colin, John Rothman and Carol Alt.

The film is being distributed worldwide by Lifetime Television and A&E Networks.

The Seagull

“I lead a great life. I go where I want, fly whenever I want, practice my favorite new sport kitesurfing, make friends with of cool locals and enjoy the best life can offer.

It wasn’t always this way. I was born in Taiwan, and lived all my life in St Vincent and the Grenadines. My daily life was sitting in a kitchen next to some stuffed animals, being kicked around by my owner Devon or watching him draw. He is a very talented boy.

Until one day when things changed.”

This a ball talking. The ball that is the most prized possession of a 10-year-old boy from the Island of St. Vincent in the Grenadines.

When Devon paints a seagull on it the ball mysteriously comes to life starts talking and escapes on a wild journey across the country.

The ball has a great journey discovering its surroundings and realizing the pleasures of freedom.

“Nothing, absolutely nothing beats the feeling of flying in and out of the water chasing after sailboats. This is so fantastic! I am so totally free I’m going out of my mind with excitement! I feel I’m in a Hollywood movie. I’m a master of the water universe!”

Devon, desperately looks for the ball, chasing it across the country. The ball, finally lonely finds its way home. In the process both Devon and the ball realize the true meaning of friendship.

This documentary was a jury selection of the Hoboken Film Festival, The World Arts Film Festival and The Salento Film Festival in Italy.
